Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel Paris in One Day?

September 12th, 2011

Can you really see Disneyland and disneyland hotel Paris in one day?

Here’s a challenge! If your kids are begging to go to Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel Paris, but your budget and your schedule just give you one day to do it, what do you do?

Well, you certainly won’t be able to see and do everything, but with a little common sense and these handy tips, you’ll be amazed at how much fun you can have with just one day in the Magic Kingdom!

1: Choose which of the Disney parks you are going to visit and buy your tickets in advance to save valuable time standing in line at the ticket window when you arrive.

2: Get a copy of park maps and timetables online so that you can plan your day in advance to make sure that you get to the things that you want to see most. It’s always hard to choose between the various rides, parades, and shows, but you need to decide realistically what you can and can’t do in one day.

3: On your Disney day, make sure everyone has a hearty breakfast. You want to spend as much time as possible on the rides and attractions, not stopping for snacks.

4: Arrive early. Check the park times and arrive when the gates open. It will give you a head start on those guests who take a leisurely breakfast and arrive in the middle of the morning.

5: Take advantage of Disney’s Fast Pass service, which allows you to avoid the lines at the more popular attractions.

6: Don’t allow members of your group to just wander off. Before anyone separates from your group for whatever reason,
decide on a specific meeting point and be clear about when you will meet up again.

If your group members have cell phones, make sure that they are turned on and charged. This will save you a lot of worry as well as valuable time that might be spent looking for a wanderer.

7: When you enter the park, work through the schedule that you’ve drawn up and don’t get sidetracked by distractions.

8: Bring your own nutritional snacks and fruit so that you won’t lose precious timewaiting in line at restaurants.

9: All Disney parks have Tip Boards, showing the average wait time for each attraction. This information is updated regularly throughout the day and can help you revise your plans if one of your planned activities has developed a long waiting time.

10: Save any shopping until you are ready to exit the park. Shops will stay open for at least an hour after the park officially closes.
If you buy your souvenirs as you exit you won’t have to carry them around the park all day.

While you may not be able to see everything in one day, these tips should help you make the most of your short time in the Magic Kingdom. And the good news is that there is always something different, new and exciting to see, experience and explore in Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel Paris.

So even if you don’t manage to cross off everything on your theme park list on your first short visit, there is no better excuse for a return visit to Eurodisney and Disneyland Hotel Paris at a more leisurely pace!

Taking your child to Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel Paris?

September 12th, 2011

A trip to Disneyland is an amazing experience for your child, no matter which Disney theme park you visit.

Here are five handy tips to make your next visit to Disneyland and Disneyland Hotel Paris as easy and hassle-free as possible:

Tip #1 – Avoid the crowds

Crowds can be very stressful and annoying, especially when you have small children with you, so it is wise to plan your trip for a time when schools are in session.

If you must go at a busy time, remember that kids get impatient while waiting in line, so bring snacks and toys to distract them.

Tip #2 – Keep your hands free

If you are traveling with an infant or toddler, use a Playtex Hip Hammock or similar item to carry him or her. This is better than putting your child on your back  because you can see your child at all times and easily tend to him or her if they need attention.

The hammock is great for children from 15 to 35 pounds. It keeps your hands free while you’re waiting for the bus, standing in line,  tending to your older kids and browsing in shops. You even also take your toddler on the park rides with you in the hammock.

Tip #3 – Don’t let kids get over-tired

Take frequent breaks to be sure that your children don’t get exhausted. You may want arrive at the parks early in the morning, then take the kids back to the Disneyland Hotel Paris to have a nap in the afternoon. This will keep them refreshed for the excitement of the parades and fireworks later that evening.

Tip #4 – Research rides

It is very important to research the rides before your Disney visit. Many of the newer rides and attractions have special effects like loud noises and bright lights that may be frightening to young children. And some rides include trips through dark tunnels or passages  that may not be appropriate for children who have a fear of the dark or who are claustrophobic.

Tip #5 – Check out the Baby Care Center

Every Disney park has a free Baby Care Center where you and your young child can relax for a moment. These centers are equipped with rockers, high chairs, and toys. They even have formula and baby food for sale.

Know where the Baby Care Center is in the park that you are going to visit, and stop by to see what resources they have available to help you and your family get the most from your Disney visit.

If you visit the Disneyland Hotel Paris, there is also a Club Minnie area where you can leave your child with an experienced caregiver while you take a few moments for yourself to run errands or enjoy the Celestial Spa and other amenities.
